U.S. Highway 66 should be recommissioned. It's not a particularly important part transportation route these days due to the construction of the interstate highway system, but it is an important cultural (and economic) route for the towns it passes through. Maybe it gets more attention as a signed historic route everywhere, but there would no doubt be travellers who go out of their way to follow the so-called mother road if a continuous route were created again.

In search of services, we found ourselves along this one-time highway in Winslow, Arizona. It is the site of this picture of the day.
